Refund Policy

Cheonmyeongdang (KunStudio) complies with the Korean Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, etc. (the "E-Commerce Act") and guarantees your right to withdraw a purchase and receive a refund. This page applies to purchases made on or after April 1, 2026.

What can be refunded

In-depth Saju reading (one-off purchase) — 100% refund within 7 days if the report has not been downloaded
Comprehensive reading package (one-off purchase) — same condition applies
Monthly subscription (PayPal recurring) — Full refund within 7 days of your first charge if unused. Cancel anytime. Later billing periods stop from the next billing cycle after cancellation; a period that has already been charged is not refunded.
Daily pass — 100% refund within 24 hours if unused

When withdrawal is restricted

Under article 17 (2) 5 of the E-Commerce Act, withdrawal may be restricted in the following cases.

The PDF file has been downloaded at least once
The Saju reading result has been read in full (scrolled to the end on screen)
Three or more follow-up questions have been asked through the AI chat

Consumer protection principle: even where the restrictions above apply, we refund the full amount regardless of elapsed time when the problem is our fault — a service error, a system failure or a duplicate charge.

Consumers in the EU and EEA

If you reside in the European Union or the European Economic Area, the statutory withdrawal period of 14 days under Article 9(1) of Directive 2011/83/EU applies in place of the 7 days above. That period is a statutory minimum and we cannot shorten it by contract.

The digital-content exception in Article 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU applies only where you gave prior express consent to performance beginning and acknowledged that you thereby lose the right of withdrawal.

Mandatory law: nothing in this policy removes the mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live.

Dispute resolution: if a refund dispute cannot be settled amicably, you may apply for mediation to the Consumer Dispute Mediation Committee of the Korea Consumer Agency (www.kca.go.kr, 1372) or to the Electronic Commerce Mediation Committee (www.ecmc.or.kr, 1661-5714).

How to cancel a subscription PayPal subscription

You can cancel a monthly subscription yourself in your PayPal account, or email us and we will do it for you.

Cancel in PayPal: log in to PayPal → Settings → Payments → Automatic payments → Cheonmyeongdang → Cancel
Cancel by email: send an email to [email protected] with the subject "Subscription cancellation request"

When cancellation takes effect: cancellation applies from the next billing cycle. You keep access for the remaining days of the current period that has already been charged.
