A Saju chart is a grid of eight characters. Deriving those characters from your birth data is a calculation — the same result every time, given the same birth data and the same calendar conversion method. Displaying the chart costs nothing significant to automate.
Interpreting the chart is a different matter. The eight characters do not speak for themselves. Their meaning comes from the relationships between them: which elements generate or nourish which others, which elements clash or control, where the Day Master sits relative to its resource and output stars, and how the current fortune cycles interact with the natal chart pattern. This interpretation layer is what separates a paid reading from a free chart display.
One of the most significant omissions in free Saju tools is the Daewoon — the ten-year major fortune cycle currently active in your life. Every person moves through a series of Daewoon periods beginning from early childhood. The Daewoon pillar acts as a temporary overlay on your natal chart, amplifying or suppressing certain elements and shifting which stars are active. Without knowing your current Daewoon, a Saju analysis describes your natal potential but says nothing about what is happening in your life right now.
The annual Seyoon cycle adds a further layer: the energy of the current calendar year (2026 is Byeong-o, Fire Horse year) as it interacts with your natal pillars. A Fire Horse year is particularly significant for anyone whose natal chart has strong Water or Metal elements, as the Fire energy generates tension with those elements. Understanding this interaction helps explain why certain years feel dramatically different from others.
A free Saju chart tool is sufficient if your goal is to identify your Day Master element and see the basic structure of your eight characters. It is a starting point for understanding what Saju is and what your chart looks like.
A paid reading is worth it when you want to understand what your chart actually means: why you have the relational patterns you do, what your current fortune cycle is activating or suppressing, and what the 2026 energy means specifically for your elemental composition.
Get Your Full Saju Reading — $9.99What does a free Saju reading give you?
Free Saju tools display your eight-character chart and label your Day Master element. They do not interpret elemental interactions, relational stars, career or wealth positions, the spouse palace, or your current fortune cycles. You receive a chart, not a reading.
What does a paid Saju reading add?
A paid reading interprets the chart: elemental generating and clashing relationships among all eight characters, Day Master profile relative to surrounding elements, career and wealth star positions, spouse palace signals, the current ten-year Daewoon cycle, and the 2026 annual Seyoon. The Cheonmyeongdang reading covers all of these for $9.99.
Are free Saju calculators accurate?
Accuracy depends on the calendar conversion method. Tools using simplified Gregorian lookups produce incorrect Month or Year pillars for people born near one of the 24 solar node boundaries. Verify that the tool uses Manseryeok-based conversion. Cheonmyeongdang uses a full Manseryeok table for all calculations.
Is the Cheonmyeongdang reading available in English?
Yes. The full written analysis is delivered in English. All classical Saju terms are explained within the reading. No prior knowledge of Korean astrology is required.
